This blog has been created to allow my wife's Uncle "Milford Acornes" to vent a little. He's become a nuisance so we thought we'd get him a hobby. At this point we have to post for him.

Farm House on Howard Road
I'm just out scouting for local material, maybe just paint what I see it would be a hell of a lot easier.
This is a very old house and all those windows were single-pane. It looks like there may have been a canopy or something (awning) at the font as you can see holes for fasteners.
what do you think will happen to this house? On my last trip to b.c. we saw many old barns and houses that sort of died a long slow death. This is something that is never seen in so. calif. where either owners are in fear of dreaded law suits or are bulldozer happy and clear land sells better than dilapidated buildings on land.
Thats why I'm doing this-to document the garden through till the fall and to get pictures of stuff before its gone. There is a incredible amount of good painting material around here.

I'm amazed at the amount of windows on this first floor. Is this a common practice?
